Abstract

This writing is both testimony and sketch of the life, character and thought of one of the most exceptional Mexican philosophers of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. I narrate my long experience dealing with Severo Iglesias, from his youth until his unfortunate death. I propose the thesis that the development of his thought and his work can be divided into three stages: the critical period; the period of gestation and approach of the triadic dialectic; and the period of political praxis. I question the philosophical and political testament that Severo Iglesias leaves us, risking some interpretations about it, and I propose some reflections about the way in which we should study his work once the person has disappeared.
