Abstract

This text proposes a critical reading of the project Trabajo emocional / Yes we can, by the group of artists from Monterrey, Mexico, Colectivo Estetica Unisex, formed by
Lorena Estrada Quiroga and Futuro Moncada, in the light of authors such as Iván Ilich and Byung-Chul Han. The audiovisual record, made in the early years of the second decade of this century, explores subjectivities and the conformation of their limits, aspirations, conceptions and vital scopes, shaped and structured as part of the prevailing labor cultures and policies in the cities of northeastern Mexico, where companies, franchises and dogmas
derived from the capitalist demand, opposing these aesthetic searches to the theory of authors who, for decades, have explored the notions of ghost work, the society of fatigue and self-exploitation in modern society.
