Resumen

Durante los años 80 y 90, las animaciones japonesas irrumpieron masivamente en los medios de entretenimiento occidentales, captando la atención del público y convirtiéndose en elementos esenciales de la cultura visual. Títulos como “Sailor Moon", “Saint Seiya" y las películas de “Studio Ghibli" se establecieron como referentes culturales, influyendo no solo en el entretenimiento, sino también en la moda, el arte y otros aspectos de la vida contemporánea. Esta influencia ha permeado profundamente la cultura visual global, fusionándose incluso con tradiciones locales. Este artículo ofrecerá una revisión breve de algunas de las raíces históricas y religiosas del Japón antiguo, explorando cómo estas influencias han moldeado las narrativas y estéticas de las animaciones que hoy conforman parte del lenguaje visual global contemporáneo.

Biografía del autor/a

Luis Carlos Garza Valero, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León

Soy antropólogo visual especializado en arte, mitología y cultura de entretenimiento japonesa y occidental. Con más de 25 años de experiencia como escultor cerámico, ilustrador y artista visual, practico mi arte en Los Ángeles, San Cristóbal de las Casas y Copenhague.

Tengo un Doctorado en Estudios Culturales con énfasis en antropología visual. He realizado residencias de investigación en la Universidad de Chiba en Tokio y en la Universidad de Gotemburgo. Además, tengo una Maestría en Artes Visuales de la UANL y una licenciatura en Arquitectura del Tec de Monterrey, con estudios en la Universidad de Aalborg en Dinamarca. También tengo un diploma en Arte Renacentista de la Universidad de Florencia y estudios en diseño experimental con Lebbeus Woods.

He publicado libros y artículos sobre arte conceptual en videojuegos, medios de entretenimiento y urbanismo. También imparto cursos de historia del arte, filosofía y animación. Actualmente, soy estudiante de extensión en la ENAH del INAH, investigando sistemas religiosos y mitologías.
