Abstract

A historical journey is made throughout the intellectual life of Donoso Cortés (1820-1853), spanish thinker. It is showed his ideological and religious evolution, which goes from a progressive liberalism with religious indifference to a political decisionism with a christian imprint.

His most original ideas are highlighted in an attempt to think about the whole of reality from the perspective of Catholicism. Finally, some questions are asked about the current relevance of Donoso's concerns.
