In addition to the Director and the second editorial team, Aitias has a national and international Scientific Committee to its disposition, as well as an Editorial Committee consisting of the academic body from the Center of Humanistic Studies and prestiged researchers (see “Editorial Committee”).
- Scientific Committee’s Obligations.
- The Scientific Committee is the consultation organ for the journal. It’s comprised by foreign and Mexican distinguished researchers, whose opinions have been deemed valuable to preserve and improve the quality, prestige and commitment of the Journal.
- The tasks given to the Scientific Committee are to counsel and suggest the publishing of papers and reviews, and also to recommend qualified dictators for all received papers.
- Journal’s Director and editorial team’s obligations, as well as those for the Editorial Committee.
- Manuscripts of each text that imply, by themselves, academic and scientific merits will be considered for dictation and publishing.
- All manuscripts must abide by the norms stablished by the journal for the delivery of original texts (see “Publishing guidelines”).
- The responsibility to accept or reject a text rests upon the Editorial Committee and the Director, whose decision will be made based on the corresponding anonymous dictations.
- Shall the rulings not concur, the Editorial Committee and Director will send the text to a third dictation (“Peer review process”).
- The Editorial Committee and the Management will strictly keep the principle of the double blind model during the dictation process and the names of those involved in it will not be disclosed, unless they themselves specifically ask for their identity to be revealed.
- The Editorial Committee and Director may reject any text that is deemed inadequate in terms of: dealing with topics not directly associated with the journal’s specialization areas, plagiarism and lack of academic rigor in its contents and argument.
- Author’s obligations.
- Authors must follow the “Publishing Guidelines” [“Directives for authors”] stablished by the journal.
- Authors are only allowed to present original research; previously published papers or those who are being ruled over at the same time by another publisher will not be accepted.
- Authors will provide all consulted sources for their research by properly mentioning them in their quotes, references and bibliography.
- Authors must explicitly confirm that the submitted conclusions are an exclusive result from their research. Also, they must confirm to owning the publication rights of their manuscript, and that they don’t impinge on the publication rights of any third party.
- Authors must present with clarity all of their research’s results, as well as their relevance.
- Authors accept that their manuscripts will be assessed until all the requirements stablished in the “Publishing Guidelines” have been met.
- Dictators’ obligations.
- Every dictator must assess with objectivity every text they agree to review.
- If any dictator considers that he or she is not qualified to assess a certain paper then this must be reported to the Director, returning the text within a limit of ten days.
- Every document currently in dictation process must be treated by the dictator as a confidential document.
- All texts must be evaluated by the dictator within a period of four weeks.
- Every manuscript is evaluated according to the dictator’s knowledge on the matter.
- All dictators are forbidden to use the information, arguments, or interpretations included in the manuscripts that are currently being dictated without the consent from the author.
- Dictators must explain their assessment by filling the dictate form with clarity and prior to sending it to the Editorial Committee and Director, which in turn will forward the results to the author.
